4 Different Types of Fashion Photography - High, Street, Editorial & Black & White

Usually, when people talk about
Fashion Photography they only see the tip of the iceberg. Hence there is much more to Fashion Photography than meets the eye. And we at Spyne are here to tell you the different types of fashion photography and also tell you about how the genre has evolved over the last couple of years.

What Are The Different Types Of Fashion Photography?

Majorly there are 4 different types of Fashion Photography and will discuss each of them in brief.

1. High Fashion Photography -

This style of fashion photography is used by some of the biggest fashion brands when they want to showcase their new products. High Fashion Photography is also the most common style that we witness on Instagram and other social media platforms.

This style of fashion photography generally involves models and celebrities. This style can be used for marketing both clothing and accessories. Usually, in high fashion photography, there is a person for every job, including lighting, makeup, etc.

2. Street Fashion Photography -

Unlike High Fashion Photography, Street Fashion Photography is much more relatable to the viewer. In this style, the essence of the clothing and accessories is captured with a much more genuine background. Just as the same suggests, this style of fashion photography is done on the streets. The clothing is similar to what we see people wear on the street rather than outfits taken from a fashion show.

3. Editorial Fashion Photography -

Editorial Fashion Photography is what we get to see in newspapers and magazines, usually alongside the model and designer's name or a complete article. Editorial Fashion Photography is used for telling the story behind a photo or the clothing.

4. Black and White Fashion Photography -

Fashion Photography that focuses more on contrast than the actual color is Black and White Fashion Photography. We all are familiar with the concept and know-how stunning black and white images can look in comparison with colored images.
